Did the birds ever land? I love your blog. It makes me laugh and cry.
There is a trick you can do with bird feeders where you put out a dummy, like a scarecrow, in a sitting position with its hand out, holding birdseed. After the birds are accustomed to eating from the dummy's hand, you move it and sit there yourself with your hand full of birdseed. I don't think I have the patience to try it, but it seems like your kids might. LOL!
